This cordless vacuum cleaner also mops under furniture: Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua hands-on review
3-in-1.
The Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua is not just a conventional cordless vacuum cleaner that can be used on floors and as a handheld device for upholstery, crevices and more. With two rotating mop pads, it also wet-mops floors, as our test shows.Marcus Schwarten (translated by Marcus Schwarten (translation supported by DeepL)) Published 🇩🇪
Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua review verdict: Versatile in use
In our test, the Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua neither vacuumed exceptionally well nor mopped brilliantly, but it handled both tasks solidly. It offers a good combination of vacuuming and damp mopping. The mopping function with its two rotating mop pads in particular is better than that of many other hybrid models, but it cannot match dedicated vacuum mops—even in terms of the effort required.
On smooth floors and low-pile carpets, the JV9 Pro Aqua delivers decent performance in our test, but (like many other cordless vacuum cleaners) reaches its limits on longer-pile carpets. The extensive range of included accessories is a plus, making the device versatile. Overall, a more than solid package at an attractive price.
Pros
Cons
Price and availability
The recommended retail price for the Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua is $350 for the standard set. It is available directly from the manufacturer and from retailers such as MediaMarkt. There is currently a sale at Jimmy. Even after it ends, you can save 100 euros with the voucher code NOTE100 until December 31.
Alternatively, Jimmy offers the "Glänzendes Bodenset" at an RRP of $360, which also includes two replacement mopping pads. The "Max Power Kit", with an RRP of $400, includes a second battery.
There are now many cordless vacuum cleaners on the market that also offer a mopping function. However, the Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua tries to stand out from many other models by not just dragging a damp cloth across the floor, but actively scrubbing with two rotating mop pads.
We tested how well this works in practice and what else the vacuum cleaner has to offer. This Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua review presents our findings.

Features & scope of delivery: Aqua polishing head and much more
The primary function of the Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua is vacuuming. For this, the cordless vacuum cleaner features a powerful 500 W motor that delivers 160 AW of suction power. This is channeled through a tube with a central hinge to the floor head, which is fitted with soft and stiff bristles and is designed to prevent hair from wrapping around it thanks to its anti-tangle design. This worked reasonably well in our test, but was not entirely reliable with long hair.
Jimmy also supplies a range of additional attachments, which can be used with either the long hinged tube or the flexible tube, or in handheld mode. These include a small motorized mattress attachment and a 2-in-1 upholstery tool for vacuuming mattresses, sofas, armchairs, and the like, a soft brush for cleaning delicate surfaces, and a crevice tool for corners and gaps.
In addition to dry cleaning, the JV9 Pro Aqua, as its name suggests, can also handle wet cleaning. The manufacturer includes an Aqua polishing head. This is fitted with two microfiber mopping pads that rotate at 210 rpm. These can be used not only to dry-polish the floor, but also to damp-mop it, with water supplied at the touch of a button from the removable 500 ml water tank on the Aqua polishing head. Unlike the four vacuuming modes, however, there are no settings to adjust the moisture level or speed.
The package is rounded off by a stand that requires assembly. The instructions are not much help when it comes to identifying which screws go where (six in total), especially since the German translation is not particularly good either. Once assembled, the stand feels solid, but not particularly stable. With the cordless vacuum cleaner mounted and all the attachments stored, it is somewhat top-heavy and prone to tipping. The mopping attachment is better placed beside it anyway, as it is rather large and bulky on the stand.
Handling: Mops for almost 50 minutes at a time
Before cleaning can begin, the removable battery must be clipped onto the bottom of the device. It has a capacity of 7 x 2,500 mAh or 63 Wh. In testing, the battery lasted around 18 minutes on "Turbo" (the middle setting between Eco and Max). When mopping, a single charge provided a generous 49 minutes of damp floor cleaning. That is solid and should be enough for most households.
A full charge took quite some time in testing, at almost five hours. The battery can be easily removed if needed. This allows it to be charged away from the vacuum cleaner using the included charger, or cleaning to continue with a second battery (not included in the standard set).
Overall, the JV9 Pro Aqua handled well in our test and was not too tiring to use even for longer periods, thanks in part to a handheld unit that is not particularly heavy at 1.65 kg. To start it, press the trigger once. There is no need to keep holding it; simply press it again to switch the device off.
Modes are changed using a second button on top of the device. The handle generally feels comfortable to hold, but is a little cramped for people with large hands. Emptying it over the bin also takes just a few simple steps. A practical feature: the dust container can be detached from the rest of the device.
A simple display on top of the Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua, where it is always in view, provides the essential information: remaining runtime, mode and any errors that may occur. These are the basics, and they are generally enough. In keeping with its price range, it does not provide information on the amount of dirt picked up, as some higher-end cordless vacuum cleaners do.
One thing we really missed when cleaning floors, having grown very fond of it in various other vacuum cleaner and vacuum mop tests, is LED lighting. Neither the floor nozzle nor the mopping attachment has it. This makes it harder to spot dirt on the floor, especially in darker areas such as under furniture. The Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua can easily reach these areas thanks to its hinged tube and the relatively low height of its floor nozzle, at around 7 cm (the mopping attachment is slightly taller). This is practical, but also common on many other cordless vacuum cleaners today.
Cleaning performance: Good for smooth floors
There are four modes to choose from: Auto, Eco, Turbo and Max. The lowest setting is sufficient for lightly soiled hard floors, but is fairly weak. Auto mode did not prove particularly accurate, failing to reliably adjust the suction power when there was a lot of dirt. The highest setting is intended for carpets.
Overall, the suction performance is solid. The JV9 Pro Aqua cleans smooth surfaces without any problems, as long as the dirt is loose. When approaching skirting boards, furniture bases and the like head-on with the floor nozzle, some dirt is left behind on the floor—but not when moving along them sideways.
Short-pile carpet is no problem either. However, as the pile gets a little longer, the cordless vacuum cleaner quickly reaches the limits of its suction power—and occasionally got stuck as well. On a medium-pile carpet, it not only left quite a bit of fine sand between the fibres in our test, but also struggled with short dog hairs. Only after several passes was the result okay, but not particularly good.
The various attachments each performed their tasks in practice, for example on upholstery, baseboards and in corners. However, you should be aware that there are no motorized wheels or similar features to assist with floor cleaning, as there are on some more expensive vacuum mops. This means that prolonged use can be somewhat more physically demanding, especially with the mopping attachment.
The mopping attachment made a decent impression in our test during routine mopping. However, the device does reach its limits with stubborn stains such as dried-on ketchup. If the two rotating mop pads were left on the stain for a while, it could gradually be softened and then largely removed. In addition, thanks to its mop pads extending beyond the sides, the JV9 Pro Aqua mops virtually right up to the edges.
It should be noted that the device does not pick up dirty water; instead, it remains in the mop pads and on the floor - and heavy dirt tends to be spread around rather than picked up. Overall, the rotating mop pads deliver significantly better mopping performance than alternative models that simply drag a damp cloth across the floor - such as the Proscenic P20 OnePass (approx. 150 euros on Amazon). However, it is not comparable to dedicated vacuum mops.
This is also evident in the fact that the Jimmy JV9 Pro Aqua has no self-cleaning or drying functions for its mopping system, unlike even cheaper wet-dry vacuums today. This means that after cleaning the floor, you still have to clean the device. To do this, the two mop pads must be detached from the device via their hook-and-loop fasteners and then washed by hand or in the washing machine.
