If you don't want to purchase the current-gen Xbox consoles, you can still play Xbox games on your TV. Thanks to Xbox bringing its cloud gaming service to select Fire TV devices, such as the currently-discounted Fire TV Stick 4K, buyers can stream Xbox games on their TVs.

Last June, Microsoft and Amazon announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming would be available on Fire TV devices, thus allowing owners to connect a Bluetooth controller, sign in to Xbox Game Pass, and start playing their favorite games. The feature, which arrived in July 2024, is available on select Fire TV devices including the Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen) which is now on sale.

The Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen) was released in September 2023 with a $49.99 price tag, but for a limited time, Amazon has slashed 40% off its price, bringing it down to $29.99. That's a steal for anyone who wants to play Xbox games but doesn't want to purchase the Xbox Series X/S consoles.

If you already have a Bluetooth controller, you don't have to shell out more money but if you don't have one, Amazon currently has the Xbox Core Wireless Gaming Controller in Pulse Red for $44 instead of $64.99.

With the Fire TV 4K, it is not just the games available on the Xbox Game Pass library you get to play, last November, Xbox began letting subscribers stream Xbox games from their personal libraries too. It started with just 50 games, but the plan is to expand it to cover thousands of Xbox games.

The Fire TV Stick 4K isn't just an Xbox console replacement. Users can stream their favorite movies and shows in 4K with support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos Audio. It also has Wi-Fi 6, ships with a voice remote, and can be used to control compatible smart home devices including lights, security cameras, and door locks.

In addition to the Fire TV Stick 4K, Amazon has also discounted the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, bringing it down to $44.99 from $59.99. It has 16GB of storage, double that of the Fire TV Stick 4K. It also has Wi-Fi 6E and support for Fire TV Ambient Experience which transforms your TV into a sort of giant Alexa smart display when not streaming.
