PC building has gotten a lot more expensive in the past few months owing to the exorbitant RAM and storage prices. That’s where combo deals make the most sense and there are a few out there for those looking to build a high performance, future proof gaming PC. The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is arguably the best value gaming CPU and this Newegg combo adds a solid motherboard, DDR5 RAM, PCIe 4.0 storage, and Crimson Desert to the package.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D combo
This particular combo includes, as mentioned, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, the Asus TUF Gaming X870-Plus WiFi motherboard, and V-Color Manta XSky 32 GB DDR5 RAM. The CPU is based on AMD’s AM5 socket and features an eight core 16 thread configuration. With 96 MB L3 cache and a 120W TDP, this CPU can deliver first class gaming performance, and you can find out more in our full review. On its own, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is priced at $420 (with 12% discount on Amazon).
The TUF Gaming X870-Plus WiFi motherboard is not part of the premium lineup but offers everything you’d need for a modern, high performance gaming PC. It comes with four DIMM slots, one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, four M.2 slots, and 2.5Gb Ethernet. It supports Wi-Fi 7 and has plenty of USB ports (Type-A and Type-C). The current market price for this motherboard is $194 (32% discount on Amazon).
V-Color RAM kits are some of the more budget friendly options and the Manta XSky kit includes two 16 GB modules at 6,400 MHz with CL32 latency and AMD EXPO support. These sticks have an RGB light bar at the top and are listed for $500 on Newegg.
Along with these three components, the combo includes a Team Group T-Force G50 512 GB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD with up to 5,000 MBps read and up to 3,500 MBps write speeds. These speeds are nothing to write home about but are plenty fast for running modern games. Currently, this SSD is listed at $113 on Newegg. Plus, a free copy of Crimson Desert is included as well so that’s another $70 in savings. Lastly, ESET NOD32 Antivirus is also included with a one-year subscription, worth $40.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D combo deal
Overall, this combo, if purchased individually, would cost $1,114 and that's with the current discounts. At its listed price of $960 (after 20% discount), that’s $154 in savings. Adding the SSD, game, and antivirus, takes the savings up to $377. Even if the antivirus and the game are not of use, the SSD can still be a great addition to the PC build. The combo is available on Newegg and is limited to one per customer.
