Now that Realme has launched its latest high-end phone, the GT Neo2, the OEM has indicated that it will turn its thoughts to a new addition of its more affordable Q series of Android devices. A reliable leaker alleges that its display will have a higher refresh rate compared to the new flagship-grade handset.

Realme has launched a Q-series phone in 2021 already. Now, however, one of the company's executives, Wang Wei, has reportedly taken to Weibo in order to hint that fans can expect a new member to join it later in the same year. This device is apparently slated to be an outing for the Snapdragon 778G SoC.

On the other hand, the social media post in question is no longer available at the time of writing. However, as the processor mentioned is proving very popular among brands these days (with 2 racing to launch theirs within the same 24 hours as of late), it is plausible that Realme might want to jump into the market with its own smartphone based on the silicon sooner rather than later.

In any case, the typically accurate leaker Digital Chat Station also now claims that just such a phone is indeed on the way. The tipster adds that this device will come with a display refresh rate of 144Hz - the second-highest in the mobile-device game.

This would mean the hypothetical late-2021 Realme Q outdoes the GT Neo2 in this respect. Then again, that existing phone is AMOLED, whereas its alleged 778G-powered counterpart is slated to be LCD instead. Therefore, its purported advantage might only mean so much in real life.

Then again, the hypothetical next-gen Q-series phone is also now thought to have low-blue-light properties in the same screen. These rumors may or may not be backed up by the appearance of new Realme devices with a processor that could be the 778G (due to its rated 2.4GHz clock-speed) on TENAA's website.

They have the model number RMX3641 and RMX3643; however, based on the similarity between the two in terms of looks and specs, the latter might just be a special edition with a different, deep royal blue colorway. Therefore, it now seems those who would like their Snapdragon 778G-powered mid-ranger in Realme flavor are about to be in luck.
