Our test winners: These are currently the best smartphones!
With the update to our new rating system, it has become much more difficult to get a "very good" rating. Manufacturers therefore have to work even harder. In fact, after rating version 8, only one device received our highest rating in the three months: the OnePlus 12. As the manufacturer is returning to Europe after a patent dispute that has since been resolved it has made a good start.
We were particularly impressed by the phone because OnePlus has really put a lot of effort into bringing it up to par with other flagship phones. The chassis is of even higher quality, the camera is impressive and the screen is also of high quality. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the device is equipped with one of the fastest SoCs currently available for cell phones.
According to rating version 7, there are 3 smartphones that have earned a "very good" rating. The Honor Magic6 RSR comes out on top. This is actually the Honor Magic6 Pro but in a very stylish housing from Porsche Design. In terms of its inner values (which in this case also shine outwards), the Honor Magic6 RSR has an advantage over the conventional flagship: a dual-layer OLED screen, which can reduce the individual brightness of the diodes by using two OLED layers one behind the other and thus significantly extend the service life.
The housing is extremely high-quality and the phone looks very stylish. However, the price is steep at just under 1,900 euros, and the phone is currently only available directly from the manufacturer at https://www.honor.com/de/phones/honor-magic6-rsr-porsche-design/buy/ available directly from the manufacturer.
The Vivo X Fold3 is not too easy to get in Europe, but TradingShenzhen makes it relatively safe and easy to import the device from China for the current price of €1,117. The folding phone impresses with its very thin and light design, good battery life, and plenty of power. The fold is barely noticeable and the display is very bright.
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro has the advantage that it is significantly cheaper than many high-end phones: you can currently get it for 529 euros at amazon.de. You don't have to do without precise positioning, fast Wi-Fi, a bright AMOLED screen, or good speakers. You also get an attractive and sturdy casing, making the phone ideal for those on a budget.

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra
The top model of Huawei's new flagship series is being launched with a confident price: the Huawei P models are now called Pura and the Pura 70 Ultra has many of the features that a high-end cell phone must have in 2024.
However, you also have to be able to do without, as Huawei is still subject to a US trade ban and is not allowed to use 5G technology, for example. There is also no 6 GHz Wi-Fi and you have to make a few compromises in terms of performance. The software is also special, but you can now easily get most of the apps you need.
Why did the Pura 70 Ultra (currently just under 1,500 euros at amazon.de) still win us over? Because of the precise positioning, the bright display and the fast charging processes. But the decisive factor is actually the outstanding camera system with 1-inch main camera sensor, retractable lens and variable aperture, which can be used to take great photos in many situations.
