For a limited time, gamers can grab a must-have title for any Steam library at an 80 percent discount, priced at just $2.

Released by Valve in April 2011, Portal 2 remains one of the most beloved games on Steam, at least when measured by user ratings. With nearly 98 percent positive reviews, the puzzle-shooter tops SteamDB's list of highest-rated games, narrowly edging out titles like Stardew Valley and People Playground. Until December 4, players can grab this classic at an 80 percent discount, paying just $2 instead of the usual $10.

In Portal 2, players step into the shoes of Chell, a test subject trapped in the Aperture Science Laboratory. Awakening from a prolonged stasis, she finds herself navigating the test chambers once again. This time, however, she teams up with Wheatley, a mischievous AI robot, in a bid to finally defeat the ever-menacing GLaDOS.

Chell doesn’t face traditional enemies in the test chambers; instead, she must contend with deadly traps, aggressive machines and a series of complex puzzles. Her sole tool is the portal gun, capable of creating two linked portals. The difficulty lies not just in solving the puzzles logically but also in the precise positioning of the portals.

Portal 2 delivers not only engaging puzzles but also a rich story filled with dark humor. While playing the first installment isn’t essential to enjoy the sequel, it adds extra context. For those interested in both games, Steam currently offers a discounted bundle for just $3, down from the usual $20.
