The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro in Twilight Orange appears online, as does a dismaying update
Xiaomi only announced the Redmi Note 8 Pro last August, but the device already has eight colour variants. Twilight Orange is the latest colour to be released, with Xiaomi announcing it just over a week ago, and people have already started posting hands-on pictures of their Twilight Orange handsets. As others have pointed out online, the variant looks more red than it does orange. However, resident Huawei leaker @RODENT950 has explained that this could be a camera colour reproduction issue, with the actual colour being closer to a deep orange.
The Twilight Orange variant also has a frosted glass back, a first for the Redmi Note 8 Pro. @Sudhanshu1414 notes that Xiaomi may extend the colour to India early next month, albeit without mention of a wider release.
Xiaomi has started rolling out a new Global Stable update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro too, but it is not the upgrade to Android 10 for which some people may have hoped. Instead, V11.0.6.0.PGGMIXM only brings the December 2019 security patch to the device, along with a fix for "images overlapped in scrolling screenshots". Incidentally, the update started life as a Beta Stable build, with Xiaomi now pushing the 443 MB download as an OTA to all handsets enrolled on the Global Stable branch.
