The RedMagic 6 gaming-phone series is slated to have a 120W-charging Pro version
Nubia has already confirmed that the RedMagic 5G will be replaced with a 2021 generation, probably to be called the 6. It will integrate the fancy 120W charging technology only available to a handful of phones, including the iQOO 7 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, thus far. However, it seems this spec might be reserved for a more expensive variant in the upcoming gaming phone.
The well-known leaker Digital Chat Station has reportedly found 2 new Nubia devices called the NX669J and NX669J-P. Of these, the latter is indeed registered as capable of charging at up to 120W. The former, on the other hand, has a 66W top rate.
Therefore, these phones might indeed be the RedMagic 6, accompanied for the first time by a more powerful variant. It is currently thought to be called the 6 Pro at launch.
One or both of these options has also now leaked with a unique rear panel inlaid with a glowing logo that can be switched on and off at the touch of a physical button.
This new feature might be based on electrochromic technology, which allows a glass panel to shift from one color to another in response to the current applied to it. Now, it seems it will be used to add a particularly futuristic cosmetic tweak to this upcoming gaming phone (or phones).
