Panic has revealed more details about the second season of games coming to the Playdate. Made up of a total of 12 games which will be released within a span of six weeks, the new season includes some titles that require playing with the crank and others that require the D-pad and A and B buttons.

Last November, Panic announced that the Playdate will be getting a new season of games in 2025. That announcement didn't come with a lot of details save for the games being about a dozen in number. Now, it has provided more details including titles, when the games will arrive, and how much they will cost.

Like the first season of games that launched with the Playdate in 2022, Panic will release two games per week starting from the 29th of May through till the 3rd of July. That amounts to twelve games in total, half the number of games of the first season.

All twelve games will take up about 550MB of space on the Playdate, with half of them requiring "the use of the crank, precision and fast movement" while a few "contain a large amount of text in English and require the microphone, audio, access to Wi-Fi, and OS 2.7 or newer". Panic has also revealed that pre-orders are open for the full season of games which will cost $39.

Ahead of the launch of the new season, Panic has released the name of all twelve games. They include Fulcrum DefenderDig Dig Dino!Taria & ComoShadowgate PD, Black Hole HavocCatchaDiablos, Chance's Lucky Escape, Long Puppy, Otto's Galactic Groove!!, The Whiteout, Tinu Turnip, and Wheelsprung. However, it has only provided details of the first four titles.

  • Fulcrum Defender is developed by the makers of FTL: Faster Than Light and Into the Breach. This new game has players aiming a turret at approaching shapes to prevent them from reaching the center. Players will be able to create their builds and upgrade weapons to succeed.
  • Dig Dig Dino! is described as a game about digging for dinosaurs' bones and other treasures. Players will join a team of paleontologists at a digsite, looking for dinosaur bones. There are a total of 12 dinosaurs they have to piece together. The game will also offer the ability to upgrade tools.
  • Taria and Como is a physics-based puzzler where players control Tara, a young girl with a prosthetic leg, by swinging as she searches for her younger sister, Como. To save her sister, Taria will have to "master the art of the swing, solve puzzles, uncover corruption, and banter with a meddling healthbot".
  • Shadowgate PD is a point and click adventure game that was originally released for the Macintosh in 1987 and then later released for the Amiga, Atari ST, and Nintendo entertainment System (NES). It has now been reimagined for the Playdate with new art styles and functionality. In Shadowgate, players have to defeat the Warlock Lord of a castle while solving puzzles and surviving the many gruesome deaths caused by making the wrong decision.

For the remaining eight games, Panic says players will learn more about them as they arrive each week.
