LG has announced that it will launch a new smartphone called Velvet in 2020. It will be powered by a 5G-enabled Snapdragon 7-series processor, and is believed to replace the flagship G-range. Now, there is also some evidence that suggests it will get a V60 ThinQ-esque case that adds a second display.

LG has already confirmed that it has developed a new phone with the unique name of Velvet. This phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G, and may be intended to replace the G9 ThinQ in 2020. Now, it seems it will also get the V60 phablet's party trick: a wallet case with a full-sized display that is activated and controlled by the phone once connected to it.

This leak is based on word of a new device LG has had certified with the Korean NRRA regulatory body. It is described as a "portable screen cover" and has the model number LM-G905N. As that of the Velvet is most likely LM-G900N, it is very possible that the 2 devices go together.

On the other hand, this does not definitively mean the Velvet will come with or be compatible with a Dual Screen case. The slightly vague name on this new certification also suggests it could have a front-facing display of some kind rather than a full-color mirror for the inaugural mid-ranger's own screen.

Then again, this phone's already well-publicized good looks might be enhanced further with this kind of companion product.
