Tesla cars' ability to drive themselves starts from the production lines. The carmaker shared a video showing some vehicles leaving the factory without human intervention.
The clip shows media personality Lara Trump (daughter-in-law of US President Donald Trump) touring Tesla's Giga Texas, where the company produces the Model Y and Cybertruck. At least three of the former are seen rolling off the production lines and heading out to the parking lot with no driver behind the wheel.
Trump can be heard exclaiming, "That's amazing! Nobody's in there! That's so cool!" She added that only Elon Musk could achieve it.
The video is an excerpt from My View with Lara Trump on Fox News. Trump also enthused about the factory floors' cleanliness and the facility's sheer size, which can contain three Pentagons (the United States Department of Defense (DoD) headquarters).
Tesla's autonomous driving tech is offered in three tiers. Autopilot comes standard on all its vehicles and includes Traffic-Aware Cruise Control for changing speed based on traffic and Autosteer for keeping the car in its lane. Enhanced Autopilot extends to automatic lane change, navigation, self-parking and Summon for controlling the car autonomously on parking lots. The flagship package is Full Self-Driving (FSD), which is meant to handle more complex driving scenarios.
