Kia owners can now take advantage of Tesla's Superchargers. After a few months of delay, the automaker joins other brands in accessing more than 21,500 public fast chargers in North America.

Kia EV owners' lives just got easier. They can now access one of North America's most extensive public charging networks: Tesla's rapid DC chargers.

According to a press release by the South Korean company, its customers can now charge at any of Tesla's 21,500 Superchargers, bringing the number of stations accessible to them to over 40,000.

Many Kia electric models use a CCS1 charging port. However, the automaker will supply NACS adapters to allow connection to the Superchargers. Newer Kias, including the 2025 EV6 and 2026 EV9, come with NACS charging ports.

Kia owners can search for, locate, and navigate to available Superchargers from their car's infotainment screen or through an app on their phone. They can also sign up to use the charging network through the Kia Charge Pass program.

The access was supposed to come in January 2025, but it was pushed back to spring. Kia EVs, however, can now officially join Ford, GM, Rivian, Volvo, Polestar, Hyundai, Lucid, Nissan, and Genesis cars in using Superchargers.

Kia also condemned the recent attacks on Tesla's public charging infrastructure, pointing out that such vandalism makes EV ownership experience inconvenient.
