Octopus Energy launches monthly unlimited electric car charging for just £30

Electric car owners in the UK can now charge to their heart's content for only £30 per month thanks to Octopus Energy's new plan. The utility company's Intelligent Drive Pack will supply all the electrons EVs need for "less than the price of a nice meal at a restaurant."

The plan covers only one EV for customers. However, they would have to charge their automobiles between 4 a.m. and 11 a.m., which might be a small sacrifice. Charging outside these hours could still be achieved using the boost functionality within the company's app.

According to Octopus Energy's estimate, the Intelligent Drive Pack costs only about two-fifths of fueling an equivalent petrol or diesel car, based on the UK's average daily driving distance of 21 miles. The charging package will appeal especially to electric taxi operators who accumulate between 68 and 123 miles per day.

The Intelligent Drive Pack requires compatible home chargers and works with about 280 EV brands. It does not require a battery installation.
