Steam Deck receives new features and bug fixes with new batch of beta updates
Earlier this week, Valve announced that it had finally enabled the ability to record Steam gameplay, which it has started rolling out as Game Recording BETA. Please see our dedicated article about the new functionality and the steps to enable it. Additionally, Valve has published various new updates for the Steam Deck (curr. $420 on Amazon), which it has also limited to its beta software distribution channel for the time being.
On the one hand, the company pushed SteamOS 3.6.7 to its Preview channel, one of the final development steps before an update reaches stable status. With that being said, SteamOS 3.6.7 makes few improvements, with a bug fix for washed-out colours 'when using Steam Remote Play as a client' listed in its changelog. Similarly, SteamOS 3.6.8 Beta, which is also available on the Steam Deck Preview channel, ships with a bug fix that caused an 'Update Error' prompt to show when clicking on the the 'Preview' update channel sub-menu.
On the other hand, Valve's recent Steam Deck Beta Client updates feature far more changes. Please note that Valve has flighted its June 26th and June 27th updates to both its Beta and Preview channels. However, there is no word yet on when these Beta Client updates will be rolled into a new stable Steam Deck Client update. At any rate, Valve has made the following changes with June 26th and June 27th Beta Client Updates:
