Now that Microsoft's next-gen plans are out there for the world to see, it was only a matter of time before Sony followed suit. While the September 9 rumors might not have panned out as expected, we can rest easy knowing that the actual event is just six days away. That's right; Sony has just announced that it would tell us more about the PlayStation 5 on Wednesday, September 16, at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.
The presentation is expected to last around forty minutes. It will be live-streamed on YouTube and Twitch. Apart from the PlayStation 5's highly-anticipated price and release date, Sony will likely shed some light on some more exclusives like Spider-man: Miles Morales and Horizon: Forbidden West.
If an earlier report is correct, Sony had a ton of those in store for us. We now know that God of War 2 exists, but whether or not it is a launch title remains to be seen. Demon Souls will almost certainly make an appearance. Rumor has it that there is a Bloodborne remaster in the works too. Two Soulsborne games should be enough to drive console sales through the roof.
Exclusives aside, let's address the elephant in the room: how much will the PlayStation 5 cost? Several reports have told us that it will cost more than the Xbox Series X, so a US$599 price tag seems likely. We can expect the Digital edition to go for US$499.
