SmallRig announces the Black Mamba cage kit for the new Panasonic Lumix GH6 camera
The Lumix GH6 has about a couple of weeks to go before its release to the global market; however, accessories for the new Panasonic camera are aleady emerging. For example, SmallRig has jumped into this space with its new "Black Mamba" series for the new, ground-breakingly high-res Micro Four Thirds unit.
These accessories revolves around the OEM's new GH6 Cage Kit, touted as capable of enhancing grip and portability in the new Panasonic camera while keeping it safe from damage with its aluminum alloy and stainless-steel build, not to mention its inward-facing rubber pads to cushion the unit while locked into the cage.
SmallRig also asserts that the cage comes outfitted with multiple grip/mount attachments, yet in a way that leaves all the GH6's top controls free. These options include compatibility with an ARRI-location top handle, which comes in the box with each US$169 Black Mamba cage kit.
For this price, the user also gets a cable clamp (which accommodates the new Lumix' HDMI and USB type-C outputs), the kit's integrated Arca-Swiss plate for rapid placement onto a compatible tripod or stabilizer, and 2 M3 screws.
The new cage can also be augmented through an "ecosystem" of custom-fitted side-handles, screen protectors, sun-shades and so on; however, they are additional purchases, now available alongside the Black Mamba on smallrig.com.
The more universal SmallRig Selection Lightweight 78" tripod is available on Amazon, though
