AMD is introducing an even more affordable base model that is positioned under the Radeon Pro W7500 (from $425 on Amazon), which makes compromises in terms of memory bandwidth and clock speeds. More specifically, the Radeon Pro W7400 has 28 RDNA 3 CUs and boost clock speeds of up to 1.1 GHz, which means that the graphics card has 7.9 TFLOPS of performance.
Due to the lower clock speeds, the GPU needs less power and consumes just 55 watts. Therefore, the Radeon Pro W7400 can draw enough power via PCIe and doesn’t require a separate power cable that’s directly connected to the PSU. AMD has also opted for 8GB of GDDR6 graphics memory with a bandwidth of only 172.8 GB/s via a 128-bit interface. The connection to the motherboard relies on PCIe 4.0 x8.
With a length of 16.8 cm and a thickness of just one slot, the GPU should easily fit into smaller cases. In larger desktop PC cases, the Radeon Pro W7400 can also be installed alongside a more powerful graphics card, depending on the motherboard. This might be practical, as the Radeon Pro W7400 can be used to connect a computer to more monitors. Furthermore, the graphics card has four mini-DisplayPort 2.1 connections and can drive up to four 4K monitors or two 8K monitors simultaneously.
Price and availability
AMD has not confirmed a release date or official list price of the Radeon Pro W7400. Meanwhile, more details on its specs and features can be found on AMD's website.
