AMD has slyly shown off two new Radeon AI Pro GPUs: Radeon AI Pro R9700S and Radeon AI Pro R9600D. As their names suggest, they're lower-binned variants of the Radeon AI Pro R9700 unveiled earlier. However, the R9700S is virtually indistinguishable from the R9700, with no noticeable differences in the cards, at least in terms of raw specs.
Radeon AI Pro R9700S
The Radeon AI Pro R9700S comes with 64 CUs (4,096 stream processors), 128 ROPs, 32 GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 256-bit bus for a total memory bandwidth of 640 GB/s, and a boost clock of 2.92 GHz. It interfaces with motherboards via two 16-pin PCIe connectors and draws up to 300 Watts of power. Unlike the Radeon AI Pro R9700S, it does not include an active cooler and is recommended for use in server racks with their own cooling systems.
Radeon AI Pro R9600D
Next up, the Radeon AI Pro R9600D lowers the CU count to 48 with 3,072 stream processors, 32 GB of VRAM on a 256-bit bus (640 GB/s memory bandwidth), and 96 ROPs. It demands just 150 Watts of power and can make do with a 450 Watt PSU. Like the R9700S, it also employs passive cooling.
Both cards have one DP 2.1 port for video output and support ECC functions, but only on Linux. Even though they're not designed for gaming, the Radeon AI Pro R9700S and Radeon AI Pro R9600D support features like AMD Fluid Motion Frames, Radeon Super Resolution, Smart Access Memory, Radeon Boost, and Radeon Anti-Lag. The company hasn't specified the price or availability of either GPU.
