AMD has expanded its Radeon RX 9000 series with the Radeon RX 9060 after a series of leaks concerning the desktop graphics card. As expected, the Radeon RX 9060 is a lesser alternative to the 8 GB version of the Radeon RX 9060 XT (curr. $269.99 on Amazon). While the pair share a Navi 44 GPU, AMD has cut down the Navi 44 in a few areas to achieve the Radeon RX 9060.
For instance, it has reduced the volume of Compute Units (CUs) from 32 to 28, resulting in a 12.5% reduction. Likewise, the Radeon RX 9060 also has 12.5% fewer AI Accelerators which now total 56. Although AMD has not revealed the new card's game frequency yet, its boost clock is 4.4% lower than the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB's at 2.99 GHz. On top of that, VRAM speeds have dropped by 10% to 18 Gbps. As a result, the Radeon RX 9060 achieves a 288 GB/s memory bandwidth across its 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM running on a 128-bit memory bus.
Unfortunately, AMD has not provided any comparative benchmarks yet. Instead, it has published average FPS numbers from a number of popular triple-A titles that we have included below. Currently, the FSR 4-capable card is expected to only be sold in pre-built systems rather than directly like the rest of the Radeon RX 9000 series. Incidentally, the same is true of the Radeon RX 7400 which has now received an official release too.
