The latest game in the Tomb Raider series is now available to play on the Xbox, PlayStation 4 and PC/Steam. This title, named Shadow of the Tomb Raider, is the result of a collaboration between Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal and Square Enix, may have come along just in time to play in conjunction with the new NVIDIA RTX 20 series.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is intended to conclude Lara Croft's origin story. The game will apparently take place in immersive worlds with the goal of "saving the world from a Maya apocalypse". It will also include perilous jungles, emotional turmoil and, obviously, potentially deadly tombs to navigate.
Speaking at Shadow's launch event, the head of the Eidos-Montréal studio, David Anfossi, paid tribute to the "marvelous job" his team had done in bringing the game through development. He was confident that it would showcase the company's ability to build immersive gaming worlds in a "significant" way.
Therefore, it will be interesting to follow the challenge that Shadow of the Tomb Raider will pose, especially to new GPUs such as the RTX 2080 Ti. Be sure to click back to notebookcheck.net for a clearer idea of what the gameplay involved will bring out in these and other cards.
