Seiko's new Credor Kuon GCLX995 mechanical watch adds blue ceramic dial to hand-wound Spring Drive lineup

Credor, Seiko’s premium watch division, has just introduced the Kuon GCLX995 with a new blue ceramic dial. The company says that the "soft and glossy dial color" is based on "the theme of Nagi" - where the sea surface is calm and quiet.
The Kuon series was a big deal for Credor when it launched - it is a relatively more accessible entry point into the brand, considering the premium status of Credor as a brand, plus Spring Drive tech. Pricing for earlier models sat around 1.3 million Japanese Yen (roughly €8,000 range), which is way lower than many other Seiko Credor pieces.
The model appears to be a regular addition to the lineup rather than a limited release. Like previous Kuon watches, it is will launch in Japan first on April 24, 2026 , with wider global availability likely to follow through select retailers.
Key specs
The GCLX995 keeps the existing Kuon case and movement:
- 39 mm stainless steel case
- 10.8 mm thickness, 46.2mm lug-to-lug
- Blue ceramic dial with engraved markers
- Sapphire crystal and display caseback
It runs on the in-house 7R31 manual-winding Spring Drive:
- ~72-hour power reserve
- ±15 seconds/month accuracy
- 30 jewels
The main change here is the dial. Multiple earlier Kuon models used porcelain, while this version switches to ceramic with a more uniform finish. They do look flatter compared to the applied indices, but go well with the minimal direction of the Kuon series.
At 39 mm, sizing is quite conservative. However, some early comments already point out that a smaller option might have helped the watch's appeal. It's priced at 1,595,000 Japanese Yen (roughly $10,048).
