Sega releases full list of games coming to Genesis Mini microconsole

Sega released the full list of games that will be on the company’s Genesis Mini console, which is set to launch in September. Similar to the NES and SNES Classic Edition consoles from Nintendo, the Genesis Mini will house a ton of classic games that were released for Sega’s 16-bit console. However, proving the old adage that “Genesis does what Nintendon’t,” the Genesis Mini will feature 42 games, twice as many as the SNES Classic Edition's 21.

There are some expected mainstays, like Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2, Altered Beast, Gunstar Heroes, and Golden Axe. However, there are a few lesser-known greats like Contra: Hard Corps, Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Wonder Boy in Monster World, and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts.

There’s a game from almost every genre that graced the 16-bit era, ranging from platformers to RPGs to puzzle games. The Genesis Mini is slated for release on September 19, 2019.
