Seagate has announced new and refreshed hard drive storage solutions for consumers and prosumers. These come in the form of the Seagate One Touch, Seagate FireCuda X Vault, and LaCie 8big Pro5. The One Touch and FireCuda X Vault are high-capacity hard drives, while the LaCie 8big Pro5 is a Thunderbolt 5 multi-bay RAID storage solution.

A refreshed design over the more boxy One Touch external hard drive, the new drive has more rounded corners with some design elements. More importantly, it is available with up to 24TB of storage as compared to 5TB max with the original. The One Touch is a 3.5-inch USB-C powered drive offered in 8TB, 20TB, and 24TB capacities. It includes the Seagate Toolkit, auto backup software, and Rescue Data Recovery Services.

The FireCuda X Vault is a new addition to the lineup targeted towards gamers and is intended to be used as mass storage alongside faster internal SSDs and NVMe drives. Like the One Touch, it also requires a single USB-C cable, but has some ‘gamery aesthetics’ like customizable RGB lighting. It comes in 8TB and 20TB capacities as well as a free trial of Xbox Game Pass.

LaCie 8big Pro5

The 8big Pro5 joins the LaCie 2big RAID and 2big Dock storage solutions. As the name suggests, it offers an eight-bay Thunderbolt 5 RAID system with much higher capacity, up to 256TB, compared to 60TB max with the other two. It is targeted towards creative professionals and can take 32TB, 64TB, 128TB, 192TB, and 256TB of total storage. With a RAID 0 setup, the 8big Pro5 is rated for up to 2,800 MB/s speeds. Furthermore, it can charge laptops at up to 140W, but of course needs its own power. There are three Thunderbolt ports at the back and a 20 Gbps USB Type-C port as well.

Pricing and availability

All three are available now via the Seagate website. The Seagate One Touch 8TB is priced at $260, the FireCuda X Vault starts at $270, and the LaCie 8big Pro5 starts at $3,999.
