Released earlier today, the free "Crews of Rage" update for Sea of Thieves comes with new Bounty Voyages into the Devil's Roar that allow you to fight Ashen Skeletons, while the new Chests of Rage contain valuable treasure and can also be traded at The Reaper's Hideout.

All players of Microsoft's Sea of Thieves can now enjoy a new update — "Crews of Rage" — that allows them to fight their good-old skeleton enemies with improved results thanks to "a new and explosive type of treasure" simply known as "Chest of Rage" that, just like any other cursed chest, can contain great loot but also has unpredictable behavior.

The aforementioned cursed chests can offer a red-hot payday and reputation boost from the Gold Hoarders, but some might want to trade them for twice the gold at the expense of reputation at The Reaper's Hideout. Other highlights of this update include the following:

  • Several Bounty Voyages that involve obtaining a new Chest of Rage and using it (the action takes place in The Devil's Roar) to fight Ashen Skeletons.
  • Located in the same region, the Molten Sands Fortress is the scene for all the Fort activity this month. Here, the players can find a Chest of Rage, as well as lost volume from the latest and last set of Ashen Tomes.

Sea of Thieves is available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. While it might not be as popular as other online multiplayer titles, it seems to have quite a following. The game has recently managed to raise over US$76,000 to help SpecialEffect, a charity that makes gaming accessible to people with disabilities.

Since it's been a while since we talked about Sea of Thieves here, it would be great to hear from those who are still playing this title in 2020 and who are willing to share some thoughts about it with the rest of us.
