The new XMG Ultra 17 M20 desktop-replacement systems integrate an advanced cooling system that filters dust particles from heatsinks and allows for CPU TDPs of up to 125 W, with GPU TGPs of up to 200 W. Such processing power requires two 280 W PSUs and at least a 97 Wh battery. Schenker also added 240 Hz displays with 100% sRGB color gamut and a 4K display option with 100% Adobe RGB color gamut.

Schemker is now offering the possibility to add the new Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs to desktop-replacement laptops from the XMG Ultra 17 M20 lineup. Users can customize their systems with up to a Core i9-10900K CPU and up to an RTX 2080 Super GPU (also desktop-grade). Of course, the cases are heftier than those on regular laptops, with weights of at least 8.37 lbs.

The inclusion of such powerful components also prompted Schenker to upgrade the cooling system. Previous versions only supported maximum CPU TDPs of 95 W, but with the addition of Intel’s Core i9-10900K options, the TDPs are now raised to a maximum of 125 W. Other CPU options include the i7-10700K and i5-10600K. In order to ensure proper cooling, The improved cooling system comes with a special “anti-dust tunnel,” while the fans come with special functions that remove dust particles from the heatsinks.

On the GPU side, the TGP is now raised to 200 W with the addition of the RTX 2080 Super option. Users may still opt for lower TGP solutions like the RTX 2080 Super Max-Q or RTX 2070 Super. Maximum RAM capacity has also been upped to 128 GB DDR4-3200 via four DIMM slots, whereas users can now take advantage of three M.2 PCIe 3.0 X4 slots and an M.2 SATA slot for SSD storage configurations. Schenker also added two new display options: a 240 Hz panel with 100% sRGB color gamut and a 4K panel with 100% Adobe RGB color gamut.

All XMG Ultra 17 M20 variants come with a generous port selection that includes 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen2, USB-C 3.2 Gen2, USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2, Thunderbolt 3 connectors, 2x Mini DisplayPort 1.4 (G-Sync compatible) + 1x HDMI 2.0 video outputs, headphone out, 2-in-1 audio jack, 2.5 Gbit / s LAN jack and a UHS-III card reader (SD / SDHC / SDXC). There even is a 2.1 sound system with dedicated subwoofer. Depending on the configuration, the laptops may require up to two 280 W power supplies and users can get more than one 97 Wh battery as the batteries can easily be swapped.

As far as pricing goes, the default configuration that includes a Core i7-10700K CPU, RTX 2070 Refresh GPU,  16 GB of RAM and a 500 GB NVMe SSD is now available for pre-orders at ~US$3,073 (2,799 EUR). Schenker will begin shipping the XMG Ultra 17 M20 laptops starting May 20.
