A couple of troubling rumors have been shared about Nvidia’s flagship GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. The Ampere board still hasn’t been properly launched yet and now it appears that its release has been delayed “indefinitely”. On top of that, an astronomical price tag for the RTX 3090 Ti from a Vietnamese retailer is supposedly right on the money.

Earlier this year Nvidia unveiled the top-of-the-range GeForce RTX 3090 Ti that would wow users with its killer specs and performance. However, as pointed out by sites like VideoCardz, the RTX 3090 Ti still hasn’t been properly launched and this has raised questions in regard to its whereabouts. Tipster and YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead has collated some information about the unreleased board and, according to his sources, the RTX 3090 Ti “has been delayed indefinitely”.

Comments made to the channel from other sources were just as damning: “It’s a card for world records, and may not even launch in some regions”, “Nvidia isn’t communicating”, and tellingly “it’s a show card most stores won’t be able to get”. It seems apparent that the RTX 3090 Ti isn’t geared towards gamers and is more for bragging rights, which is obvious considering its specs that include a 21 Gbps memory clock and 450 W TDP (RTX 3090: 19.5 Gbps; 350 W).

Even if the RTX 3090 Ti does make an appearance, it’s unlikely the average gamer will consider a purchase. Show host Tom estimates “three to five thousand dollars” for the delayed graphics card while revealing a Vietnamese retailer's poster advertising the unit at the equivalent of US$3,848 (86.9 million VND). Disturbingly, that price is purportedly “pretty close to being true”, in which case the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti’s price tag could be over 2.5x the MSRP of the RTX 3090 (US$1,499).
