Santa Monica Studio confirms God of War Laufey will get a physical disc

Since Rockstar Games' announcement that GTA VI will not get a physical game disc, and Sony's own announcement that it will stop releasing physical game discs starting in 2028, some game studios have taken the chance to announce their games will get a physical disc release.
So far, Insomniac Games confirmed last month that its upcoming PS5-exclusive title, Wolverine, will receive a physical release. The new FPS shooter, Mouse: P.I. for Hire, has also been confirmed to receive a physical disc/cartridge that will not require an internet connection to play. Now, PlayStation-owned Santa Monica Studio, has followed suit.
The popular studio, which is best known for its God of War games, has revealed that its upcoming title, God of War Laufey, will be available on disc. The game doesn't yet have a release date, so this announcement sure is proof that it will be released before 2028. The announcement is also important since, like Wolverine, it is a first party game that will be exclusive to PlayStation consoles.
In related news, Santa Monica studios has also confirmed that it will be attending San Diego Comic-Con where it will hold a panel that includes Ariel Lawrence, the game director, as well as top cast members such as Deborah Ann Woll, Christopher Judge, Jack Quaid, and Perlina Lau. Cory Balrog, the head of creative will also be present. San Diego Comic-Con begins on Thursday, July 23 and runs until Sunday, July 26.
