Samsung suspends One UI 4 rollout for the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Fold3 after bricking fears
Last week, Samsung began issuing One UI 4 to the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Fold3, upgrading the pair to Android 12 in the process. While the updates had not reached all handsets, Samsung had released the updates in multiple markets. For reference, Samsung hoped to upgrade both devices to One UI 4 globally by the end of December.
However, SamMobile reports that Samsung has halted the inaugural One UI 4 builds for both devices. According to threads on Samsung's community forum, some people have experienced their Galaxy Z Fold3 being getting stuck in recovery mode after upgrading to One UI 4. Worse still, others claim that One UI 4 has bricked their handset, although these reports are unconfirmed.
Similarly, Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Fold3 owners state that they can no longer use video streaming apps, including Netflix and YouTube, or take screenshots. Additionally, there are complaints about other handsets getting stuck at 60 Hz.
It is unclear when Samsung will start rolling out One UI 4 to the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Fold3 again. Presumably, the OS update will not reach either handset in other markets, either.
