Samsung's next-gen fitness tracker's release timeframe gets leaked

It took Samsung nearly four years to launch a successor to the Galaxy Fit 2. And when it finally announced the Galaxy Fit 3 in February 2024, it didn't release it in the US until the following year. If the rumors floating around are true, the wait for the Galaxy Fit 4 won't be that long according to a new report.
Citing unnamed sources, SamMobile reports that the next Galaxy Fit wearable, believed to be called the Galaxy Fit 4, will be released this year. The source didn't provide any technical specifications, but revealed a timeframe for its release.
According to the source, the Galaxy Fit 4 will not be released at the next Galaxy Unpacked event which is rumored to be scheduled for July. Instead, it will be announced a few months later, possibly around September. It is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 FE and the Galaxy Tab S12 series.
The Galaxy Fit line is a cheaper alternative to Samsung's Galaxy Watch series, allowing users to keep an eye on their health and fitness activities without breaking the bank. For example, the Galaxy Fit 3 (available on Amazon for $47.99) can track over 100 exercises and sports, with automatic detection for some. It also has heart rate tracking, blood oxygen level monitoring, sleep tracking, and fall detection.
Its battery goes up to 2 weeks on a single charge, outlasting Samsung's pricier Galaxy Watch models. However, it doesn't ship with WearOS, so users can't install apps. It also doesn't have Wi-Fi, LTE, a microphone, and a speaker. The Galaxy Fit 3 also misses out on more advanced health features such as ECG, Blood pressure monitoring, and irregular heart rhythm notification.
When the Galaxy Watch Fit 4 arrives, it will be going up against rivals such as the Amazfit Bip Max, Amazfit Bip 6, and Redmi Watch 6.
