Samsung's latest Galaxy S21 Ultra commercials leave a lot to be desired with its camera comparisons against the iPhone 12 Pro Max
Samsung has released several commercials about the Galaxy S21 Ultra's cameras, during which it compares them to the iPhone 12 Pro Max's. In our opinion, both smartphones have versatile cameras, but Samsung is trying to persuade people that the ones in the Galaxy S21 Ultra are vastly superior.
Specifically, Samsung implies upgrading to an iPhone 12 Pro Max would be a downgrade, with the Galaxy S21 Ultra a logical alternative. Ironically, DxOMark believes that the Galaxy S20 Ultra has better cameras than its successor, regardless of the Galaxy S21 Ultra model chosen. Additionally, the iPhone 12 Pro Max outscored both Galaxy S devices, something that Samsung does not disclose in its commercials.
Instead, Samsung relies on the argument that more megapixels equals more detail, while highlighting the limited benefits of Space Zoom. The company also emphasises that the Galaxy S21 Ultra can capture videos and photos simultaneously, even if many other Android smartphones can also do this.
Ultimately, we could recommend reading independent reviews on both devices before making a decision, rather than letting Samsung's biased commercials sway you. You can read our thoughts on the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the iPhone 12 Pro Max via the hyperlinked text.
