According to a new report, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has entered mass production ahead of its anticipated summer 2021 release. The smartwatch will reputedly arrive in two sizes and will be joined by the smaller Galaxy Watch Active 4.

Samsung is expected to reveal new smartwatches this summer, with follow-ups to the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 reportedly due. Last week, Samsung confirmed that its next smartwatches would run Wear OS, a change from the Tizen OS used for the last few years, or at least a One UI version of it.

Now, Roland Quandt has provided an update on the Galaxy Watch 4's production. According to Quandt, the Galaxy Watch has reached mass production, one of the final steps before a device's release. Based on recent leaks, Samsung plans to release two Galaxy Watch 4 models, one with a 41 mm watch face and the other with a 45 mm diameter. Apparently, Samsung has assigned these devices the model numbers SM-R885N and SM-R895N, respectively.

Additionally, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Watch Active 4 in 39 mm and 43 mm sizes. All models are believed to feature a new 5 nm SoC, details of which are unknown, currently. The SoC may be codenamed 'merlot' though, as we discussed earlier this year.
