Samsung revealed the Galaxy Home smart speaker at its Unpacked Event in August. The new addition to the manufacturer’s range of products is expected to feature six speakers, eight microphones, a subwoofer, and Bixby integration. It is believed this premium speaker will be priced at a similar level to Apple’s HomePod, which is currently US$349.
A report from SamMobile claims that Samsung is also targeting consumers on a tighter budget with a cheaper version of the smart speaker. Unfortunately, there is very little information available about this potential additional variant to the Galaxy Home series, apart from its model number (SM-V310) and the fact it will come in black. The already announced premium Samsung smart speaker has the model number SM-V510.
No release date has been given for the Galaxy Home smart speaker (SM-V510), but it is possible Samsung will reveal more at CES 2019. The company has brought AKG by Harman on board to fine-tune the audio, and the speaker's distinctive vase-shape design will certainly help it stand out from an already packed crowd.
