Back then, the lowest price recorded on Amazon for this gargantuan monitor was US$1,883.92 (March 2023). Camelcamelcamel takes into accounts all prices tracked so far to come up with a US$2,458.30 average for this curved gaming monitor by Samsung, which topped at US$3,499.99 on August 23, 2022. Now, a 33% discount pushes it to an all-time low of US$1,799.

The aforementioned drop pushes the S55BG970NN down straight from the US$2,699.99 list price. It should also be mentioned that Amazon was selling this piece of hardware for US$2,799.99 in August. With a rather low rating of 3.8/5 after 200 user reviews on Amazon and 4.1/5 after 193 votes on the official Samsung US website, the Samsung Odyssey Ark (S55BG970NN) looks like a "hit or miss" product which is usually praised for the brightness level and overall picture quality, but gets low reviews from people unhappy with the value provided, especially when they encounter various problems.

With a list price of US$2,999.99 and no discount in sight, the second-generation Samsung Odyssey Ark curved gaming monitor (model number LS55CG970NNXGO) doesn't offer much when compared to its predecessor. Both use the same 55-inch curved panel with 4K UHD resolution, 165 Hz refresh and 1 ms response time, but this year's model also sports DP 1.4 connectivity and a KVM switch, as well as the ability to show four video feeds properly at once using the Multi View mode also present in the S55BG970NN, but limited to just one HDMI input and a trio of built-in apps.
