Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy XCover 7
The Galaxy XCover 7 is more affordable but also has lower-end specifications than the last XCover. It has the basics: a protected chassis, a removable battery and 5G. But users have to make do with less performance. Can this be a good thing? Or may Samsung have cut the wrong corners on this phone?

The Samsung Galaxy XCover7 isn’t a phone you’ll pick up on a whim, or as an everyday phone. It’s just too limited for that. There are, however, some situations in which it would make a darned good choice, such as travellers heading off the beaten path or into places that are wet or dusty, where the armoured back and ability to swap batteries may come in handy. However, its drawbacks – the stripped-back camera, the low performance and the lack of fast Wi-Fi – mean that unless you need a second handset for those places, and you know you’ll use it often, then popping your usual phone, many of which now come with an IP68 rating, into a protective case may be a better option.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover7 is a decent rugged smartphone that wins in some areas such as the display, processing, and latest Android features, but loses out in other areas. The lack of a fingerprint scanner and a reliable fast charger can be a big no for many users, especially when it has a smaller battery compared to other rugged smartphones. Don’t get us wrong, the battery in the Samsung Galaxy XCover7 will last 1 – 2 days, there’s no doubt about that. But the battery in other rugged smartphones often lasts a full week instead of a few days. Even this would be acceptable if the pricing is all right. However, the pricing details are not out yet but judging by the price of its predecessor, it will be a bit premium. This is where the dilemma is. At such price tags, rugged smartphones from other brands will have way better specs and features. So, if you need better specs and the best features, then the Samsung Galaxy XCover7 is not for you.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

75.02%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
