Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Lite or Galaxy Tab S8 FE to offer cheaper entry option into the premium tablet range in 2022
There are already plenty of details out there about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series of premium tablets that currently consists of the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. It now appears the Korean manufacturer has decided to add another member to the range in the form of either a Galaxy Tab S8 Lite or Galaxy Tab S8 FE. A new model number, SM-X50*, has been discussed on GalaxyClub, with the conclusion that it will be a more-affordable edition of the Tab S8.
Unfortunately, there are scant details to be had about this Lite/FE variant of the Tab S8, although the source does mention that it will sport a TFT LCD. It’s not surprising about the panel type, as it will be the much more expensive Tab S8 Plus and Tab S8 Ultra that will wow users with OLED panels. There’s no clue about the processor either for the Tab S8 Lite/Tab S8 Lite FE, but it seems unlikely the cheaper model will have a notch in the display at least.
A speculative launch period of the third or fourth quarter of 2022 has been offered up for the tablet, which is more likely going to be called the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE rather than Galaxy Tab S8 Lite in a similar vein to the predecessor generation and the Galaxy Tab S7 FE. It’s possible Samsung will release the Tab S8, Tab S8 Plus, and Tab S8 Ultra in early 2022 and once the fanfare for those tablets has died down a little then it will be time for a Fan Edition to hit the market.
