Samsung's next mid-range tablets are slowly working their way towards a global release. Based on new leaks, new designs are planned for the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus, which will be joined by other upgrades like faster chipsets and 5G connectivity.

Samsung has been selling the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus for a while now. For context, the Galaxy Tab S10 series started last summer as the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra (curr. $1,039.99 on Amazon). By contrast, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and its larger sibling have been available for almost 18 months.

In other words, it is high time that Samsung introduced new 'Fan Edition' tablets. A release date remains unknown for now, although it is apparent that Samsung plans to offer up two tablets with Galaxy Tab S10 FE branding later this year. To that end, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus have now reached the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US.

While not necessarily a guarantee, certification by the FCC is often an indicator of a company's intention to release something in the US. Based on the information that the FCC has published so far, Samsung hopes to sell Wi-Fi only and 5G variants of both tablets, the latter sporting SM-X526B and SM-X528U model numbers for the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus, respectively.

The pair are also expected to launch with Samsung's Exynos 1580 chipset and up to 12 GB of RAM. Both tablets should offer S Pen support as well, plus charging speeds in excess of 45 W. However, Samsung will distinguish the pair with a 10.9-inch display for the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and a 13.1-inch panel for the larger Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus. According to Roland Quandt, the two variants will be available with 256 GB of storage, too.
