Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy S20+

87.7% Samsung Galaxy S20+ Smartphone Review: A handset with 8K video capabilities | Notebookcheck
The Plus model of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series offers a bit more of everything than the Galaxy S20 does. There is a bit more screen here, more battery there, and an additional rear-facing camera too. With a launch price from 1,000 Euros (~$1,094) upwards, you should expect a lot from the Galaxy S20+ too. Accordingly, we shall examine the Galaxy S20+ in detail to see what it has to offer.
80% Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus review: A very, very good smartphone
Source: Expert Reviews English
If you do want to stick with Android, though, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus still makes a fine choice. The display, features, battery life and performance are all top notch and, although the camera can’t quite beat the iPhone 11 Pro for all-round performance (or the pricier S20 Ultra), there isn’t a massive amount of difference. You’ll be happy with the results, either way. Ultimately, you’ll be choosing the Galaxy S20 Plus because you want the best an Android phone has to offer but can’t quite justify the £200 extra for the Ultra. If you do that you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t expect to be blown away.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is a nearly-perfect smartphone that connects to more 5G networks and has better cameras than ever, though you’ll be paying for the privilege, as this is the priciest Plus smartphone yet. If you don’t mind ho-hum design, the phone handles anything you throw at it, and should last you years - especially assuming 5G networks stay compatible with the S20 Plus as they build out.

In the end, putting together this article has solidified this one reviewer's conviction that the Galaxy S20+ remains worthy of occupying his pocket going into the second year of its existence. Not really a standout phone at the time of its release, the mid-size Samsung flagship of 2020 may end up being a more sensible buy in 2021. We'll know for sure in about a month's time.

The Galaxy S20 Plus represents Samsung’s best mix of high-end features and still-attainable price, at least if you’re all right with paying $1,199 for a phone. It’s got better battery life than the less expensive Galaxy S20 and comes close enough to matching the S20 Ultra so that you won’t feel short-changed if you opt for this model. The Galaxy S20 Plus definitely tests the upper limits of what mainstream smartphone shoppers should be willing to pay for a handset, but overall this the best S20 model of the three in terms of what you get for the money.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ Audio review
Source: DxOMark English Archive.org version
If you’re looking for a flagship phone with category-leading speakers, the Galaxy S20+ isn’t it, especially if you want to pump out bass. The sound it does provide, though, is fairly well balanced and features solid mid-tones and treble. Speaker placement is good and helps prevent accidental occlusion. As far as use cases go, its playback performance for listening to music is a bit stronger than for watching movies or gaming.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ camera review
Source: DxOMark English Archive.org version
If you’re looking for an advanced camera phone from a well-established manufacturer at a lower cost than a premium flagship, Samsung’s Galaxy S20+ fits the bill. Its quad-camera offers dedicated wide, ultra-wide, zoom, and bokeh sensors, and in many respects its image quality is comparable to the more expensive Samsung S20 Ultra. Its ultra-wide camera and bokeh shots are particularly impressive, and exposure and color are excellent from all its cameras in virtually all lighting conditions. Autofocus is accurate and reliable, and detail is good, even if a bit oversharpened.

Samsung's Galaxy S20 range is a safe bet, if not a little on the expensive side. While so many smartphones are available at a lower price point, Samsung's range just about defines the category for the year ahead these days - the right combination of features, capability, bells and whistles and longevity; one of the few brands that has software updates for a good while, with good retail support, good accessory support and more. The Samsung Galaxy S20+, S20 Ultra Exynos & Snapdragon Review: Megalomania Devices
Source: AnandTech English Archive.org version
The S20+ I feel is a proper successor to the S10+, and I’m even willing to switch over to it as a daily device. The 120Hz screen remains incredible no matter the battery life impact, and the cameras are still plenty good, even if not class-leading. The users in Snapdragon markets in particular end up with a device that makes very few compromises and is seemingly worthy of being a top class 2020 flagship. I just hope that Samsung will be able to resolve the camera discrepancies between the different models, as well as generally improve the camera picture quality over the coming months. If they achieve this, then I feel that the new phones would warrant their release price tags.

Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+ review
Source: Engadget English Archive.org version
The S20 and S20+ are basically the same phone, aside from their differences in size, battery and mmWave support. The Plus also has an additional depth sensor on its back for slightly better portrait mode and AR effects. Are those features worth the extra $200 for the larger phone? Only if you really want a bigger screen, extra long battery and super fast 5G on T-Mobile. Verizon offers a mmWave-compatible S20, so your decision will also depend on what carrier you’re on. For most people, though the base S20 is plenty of phone. In the case of this year’s S20 trio, smaller is so much better. I felt like the Ultra was overkill when it came to size, camera features and most importantly, price. At $1,000, the S20 costs about the same as its competitors, though the S20+ still comes in at a premium. But they’re also the best-looking Android flagships around with speedy performance and long battery life. For that money, you’ll also be getting excellent displays and blazing 5G speeds where available. If $1,000 is too much for you, you might want to wait for other options like the rumored Pixel 4a or consider the S10 series, which could offer most of what you need for a fraction of the price. Right now, though, the S20 and S20+ are the best Android phones money can buy.

Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ Review – A Mixed Bag, Not a ‘Must’ Upgrade
Source: Androidbeat English Archive.org version
As someone who still owns – and loves – a Galaxy S9+, who lives and breathes Samsung, who used an S10 for a while and a Note 9 for four solid months, the S20 is… underwhelming. It’s very much an iteration on what’s come before – and it comes at the cost of numerous omissions. Compared to the S9/Note9 series, you’re missing that much-loved audio jack, you’re missing fast capacitive fingerprint scanning, you’re missing heart and blood sensors, you’re missing iris scanning. Compared to the S10, you’re missing that jack and you’re missing a real telephoto camera.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus review: Buy this one
Source: Android Authority English Archive.org version
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is one of the most well-rounded smartphones I've used in years. It has versatile cameras that compete with the best, customizable software, and a display that's so good it will ruin other smartphone displays for you. $1,200 is a lot of money though, and Samsung is really pushing it with this high price tag.

85% Samsung Galaxy S20+ review: Best premium flagship for India?
Source: India Today English Archive.org version
While this may be a significant amount in general, it ceases to be so when one ventures into the premium segment of the smartphone market. As such, if reading this review has tipped you towards buying the Galaxy S20+, then might we suggest waiting till March 24 and getting your hands on the Galaxy S20 Ultra instead -- a phone which not only gets a bigger display but also a bigger battery as well as an awe-inducing 108-megapixel Space Zoom totting quad-camera set-up.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ Review
Source: Mobile Tech Review English Archive.org version
Lisa Gade reviews the Samsung Galaxy S20+ Android flagship smartphone. The S20+ offers some added perks compared to the smaller S20 model, while not being as thick, heavy and expensive as the Galaxy S20 Ultra. We look at the US model with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, 12GB RAM, 128GB storage and 5G on low, mid and high band mmWave. It has a 120Hz AMOLED display, microSD card slot, no headphone jack, fast wireless charging, 25 watt and 45 watt fast wired charging, triple rear cameras with the new hybrid 3x-30x tele zoom and a 4500 mAh battery.

90% Samsung Galaxy S20+ Review
Source: NDTV Gadgets English Archive.org version
The Galaxy S20+ might seem very expensive, but Samsung has actually priced it the same as the Galaxy S10+, when it launched a year ago. From that perspective, the Galaxy S20+ offers improved design and performance across the board, which makes it a worthy upgrade. Some of its stand-out features include the new zoom system for the rear cameras, the excellent display, solid battery life, and a sleeker design. Other things such as reverse wireless charging, the stereo speakers, and the lean software make this a very good package to consider.

80% Samsung Galaxy S20+ review: Does the camera live up to the hype?
Source: The Indian Express English Archive.org version
The Galaxy S20+ is no doubt an excellent flagship, which looks stylish and works flawlessly. I was most impressed by the camera for the most part. The selfie camera is what really needs to improve, and quickly. If you were waiting to upgrade from your S9 or S8, I would say the S20+ is an excellent pick on that front, unless you want to wait and see if the S20 Ultra and its 108MP camera is a better option.

Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra hands-on: Gorgeous screen and 100x zoom
Source: Hardware Zone English Archive.org version
The new S20 phones are shaping up to be very capable phones, even if they don't deliver anything super groundbreaking outside of the camera capabilities. As before, they're iterative upgrades on their predecessors, but they come with vital quality of life improvements, such as the higher refresh rate and more responsive display and smaller hole-punch camera. They're not life-changing, but they do matter, and of course Samsung has continued to improve the camera while still creating one of the sleekest-looking Android phones around.

Hands on: Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus review
Source: Techradar English Archive.org version
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is the successor to our favorite phone of 2019, and this version packs a bigger display, better cameras, more battery life and fast 5G speeds. It's outclassed by the new Galaxy S20 Ultra, so it's no longer Samsung's biggest, but it may be the best fit for people who don't want to deal with the Ultra's price and heft.

That's right; all the models available in Singapore will only have an internal base storage of 128GB. While the Galaxy S20 does not have any other capacity points, the S20+ and S20 Ultra have other storage options in other launch countries. Fortunately, a microSD card slot is present and can accept cards of up to 1TB in size.

Source: Hitech Century English Archive.org version
It’s not all just pure hardware though, Samsung has also added a very useful One Take feature that captures a shot using every conceivable mode and filter on the phone with just one press of a button so that you needn’t have to get your subject to continue reposing all the time. This feature is amazing, more so when pressed for time and you need to capture a lot of different footage styles.

Source: Trusted Reviews English Archive.org version
I can see the S20 Plus being the most popular of the new trio of the S20 devices, even though it lacks the full-blown spec-fest of the Ultra. It’s a decent size, its battery should comfortably get you through the day, and it’s purely a 5G device.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is a capable successor to our favorite phone of 2019, with improvements including top-end display features, a high-res zoom camera, and a suite of video capture features. Some people might appreciate the 5G connectivity too. However in some other ways it just seems like an obligatory yearly upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra First Impressions
Source: NDTV Gadgets English Archive.org version
Of the three phones, the Galaxy S20 is the most compact and manageable, and many potential buyers will find this appealing, as we did. However, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is by far the most interesting of the three, even though its the most unwieldy and will be much more expensive. We're eager to test Samsung's new 108-megapixel sensor and also the hybrid zoom systems in all three phones, so stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for that.

Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ hands-on: Effortlessly exceptional
Source: Sam Mobile English Archive.org version
Samsung’s aim with the Galaxy S20 lineup is to offer something for all customers across the entire flagship spectrum. So it has stuffed the new models with the latest in mobile technology while leaving enough of a gap between the models so that they don’t end up cannibalizing each other’s sales.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ initial review: Sitting in the shadows?
Source: Pocket Lint English Archive.org version
There's little doubt that the Galaxy S20+ will be a good phone - but there's a lot of questions around performance that still need to be answered. The important factors - whether the camera performs and the battery life delivers - will have to wait until we have spent more time with this phone. But unlike 2019, there's a chance that this model will be overshadowed by the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung's super-spec phone that sits above it.

Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+ hands-on review
Source: GSM Arena English Archive.org version
Even though the Galaxy S20 Ultra is definitely going to soak up most of the spotlight at this unveiling, with its fancy new 108MP and periscope cameras, we have very little to complain about the regular S20 and the S20+. Growth-spurt aside, the pair actually looks all round better in most aspects compared to its predecessors. An achievement, which, like we already mentioned, should not be taken lightly. We only Samsung has done something different to the design of these babies. Oh, and where's the white color this time around, Samsung? Sigh, we can't have it all.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus review (hands on)
Source: Tom's Guide English Archive.org version
After largely resisting the recent trend toward pricier flagships, Samsung has thrown caution to the wind with the S20 trio, releasing the most advanced smartphones it has ever made. And while the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus may not have the S20 Ultra's attention-grabbing 108MP main camera, it has enough of everything else — the quartet of lenses, the top-of-the-line processor, the roomy screen and the comprehensive 5G support — that it could wind up being a better value than that range-topping model.

Considered as the middle child of the Samsung Galaxy S20 generation, the Samsung S20 Plus is the latest addition to the long-standing Samsung family. This is definitely something to celebrate for all the ardent Samsung fans out there. If the Samsung S10 Plus has been considered as one of the best out there in 2019, the S20 Plus is obviously aiming to be the best shot in 2020. While its sister variant, the S20, came with an average 6.2-inch screen size, the S20 Plus came breezing through the market with its 6.7-inch Quad-HD AMOLED display. This heightens the immersive user experience when using the smartphone. Added to the already awesome display, the S20 Plus also incorporates a 120Hz refresh rate as opposed to the standard 60Hz refresh rate in most phones. The improved refresh rate allows the content on the screen to be updated twice, improving the overall display performance.

Compared to the Galaxy S20, the S20 Plus caters for 5G networks irrespective of the carrier that is being used. As far as the processor is concerned, the S20 Plus uses the more advanced Snapdragon 865, which delivers a better gaming experience for users while increasing the overall smartphone performance. In addition, the phone also features 12 GB of RAM with an internal storage of up to 512 GB, which is definitely missing in the Samsung Galaxy S20. Apart from that, a bigger 4,500mAh battery has been incorporated within the S20 Plus to cater for better battery life for users and ease the need for frequent recharging. The need to always charge a smartphone has always been a drawback in most phones, as users usually opt for an option with way better battery life, and the S20 Plus is offering just that.

Samsung has gone for an iterative approach with the Galaxy S20 Plus’s design by relocating the front-facing camera that was in the middle on the Galaxy S10. This is similar to the position on the Galaxy Note 10, while stacking the rear optics vertically in an elongated manner. However, the Galaxy S20 Plus does not carry the 100x zoom mode that can be found within the S20 Ultra edition. Despite being slightly ahead of the S20, the S20 Plus falls short in terms of its camera, the S20 Ultra caters for a better camera usage experience. Along with that, the Galaxy S20 Plus also does not have the 108-megapixel main camera which again can be found on the S20 Ultra. However, the S20 Plus caters for better video content creation with its 8K video recording feature. This is definitely something to delight all the video content creators out there. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus can be bought in three different colors, namely Cloud Blue, Cosmic Gray and Cosmic Black.

6.70":

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
