Samsung Galaxy F70e 5G to launch with leather back and 6,000mAh battery

The Samsung Galaxy F70e 5G will be officially unveiled on February 9, 2026. Samsung is already showcasing the mid-range smartphone on a teaser website that also confirms some specifications. The design is quite unusual for Samsung, because unlike the Galaxy A17 (from $179 on Amazon), the Galaxy F70e 5G sports a leather-textured back.
The smartphone will be available in "Limelight Green" and "Spotlight Blue". As is typical for Samsung, the Galaxy F70e 5G has a flat frame with a bulge on the right side, the so-called "Key Island", which houses the power button and the volume buttons. However, the wide chin below the display and the notch make the design look like a low-cost entry-level smartphone.
Samsung still opts for a 6,000mAh battery, even though the expensive Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to be equipped with a smaller 5,000mAh battery. The pill-shaped camera module on the back houses a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor that is intended to produce a more convincing bokeh effect in portrait mode. Meanwhile, the selfie camera is based on an 8MP sensor.
The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz but also a relatively low peak brightness of 800 nits, which suggests that the Android phone uses an IPS panel instead of OLED. Samsung has not yet confirmed any details about the screen resolution or the processor. The Galaxy F70e 5G will first launch in India, and it remains to be seen whether a release in other markets and regions is planned.
