What’s not to like about the Galaxy Book Pro? It’s as light as a feather, so slender it almost vanishes when looked at side-on, has a superb display, a solid array of ports, a good keyboard, a massive trackpad, excellent performance and good battery life. I’d rather Samsung’s marketing suits hadn’t insisted that you can only have a touchscreen on the 360 models and an LTE modem only in the 13.3in machine, but I suppose they have their reasons. And considering how good the rest of the package is – and how reasonable the price is – it seems churlish to complain. Will it sell like the Galaxy S21? Probably not; it’s only a laptop, after all. However, it’s so good that it deserves to. It’s officially our favourite Windows laptop of 2021.

When you’ve got a record as polished as Samsung’s, products come with certain expectations attached, and there’s certainly a lot to like about the Galaxy Book Pro. The display is characteristically breathtaking, the dimensions are fabulously slim and light, and there’s a surprisingly versatile range of features. There are some notable flaws, though. The performance is uninspiring, considering the price, and the trackpad niggles are a little off-putting. These shortcomings just barely keep the Galaxy Book Pro from an award, but although it’s not quite perfect, this laptop makes a worthy business companion – particularly for anyone who needs a device that’s as comfortable on the road as it is in the office.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro has an outstanding design, being so light and slim that you can comfortably pick it up with one hand. It comes with an impressive spec sheet, too, including the latest Intel processor options, an AMOLED display and optional LTE support. However, Samsung's desire to create such a lightweight laptop has resulted in compromises to the build quality, which can't be ignored.

Samsung's flagship 15.6-inch laptop is several hundred grams lighter than the popular Dell XPS 15, HP Spectre x360 15, and most other laptops of its size class for that matter. Do performance and battery life suffer as a consequence?
