The refreshed Raptor Lake CPU comes in cheaper than Meteor Lake and Zen 4 albeit without an integrated NPU for local AI acceleration. The IdeaPad Slim 5 16 is almost as basic as it gets but in a reliable and focused sort of way.

Despite its good looks and trim design, I can't recommend the IdeaPad Slim 5i 16 Gen 9. The dull display is a downer in general, and the poor audio output detracts from its appeal as a low-cost, big-screen entertainment laptop. The Lenovo Yoga 7 16 Gen 9 doesn't offer better sound, but it does provide a better overall build and a brighter display for roughly the same cost, along with two-in-one versatility. And if you can extend your budget past $1,000, the HP Envy x360 16 offers greater value with its higher-resolution OLED display and stronger performance.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 96 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
