The launch of the Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to occur in a few days. In the meantime, a well-regarded leaker has revealed that Samsung's cheaper Galaxy Z Flip option may retail for just 10% less than the Galaxy Z Flip7 despite a raft of hardware downgrades.

The Galaxy Z Flip FE is a rather curious entry into Samsung's burgeoning Galaxy Z lineup. Allegedly parts Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Flip6 (curr. $614 - refurbished on Amazon), the Galaxy Z Flip FE will look comparatively last-gen next to the Galaxy Z Flip7. Likewise, the Galaxy Z Flip FE appears to have a much older appearance than the Razr 60, Motorola's cheaper clamshell throughout 2025 and early 2026.

While a sizeable price gap exists between Motorola's two clamshells, Roland Quandt suggests the same might not be the case for Samsung's equivalents. Writing on BlueSky, the leaker reports that the Galaxy Z Flip FE will retail for just €100 less than the Galaxy Z Flip7. In part, this may be because the latter is set to launch for about €100 less than its predecessor.

At this stage, it remains to be seen whether Samsung will reflect this small price difference in other markets like North America. If that were the case, then it would see the Galaxy Z Flip FE reaching the US for approximately $899 before launch discounts with an Exynos 2400 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage and a 120 Hz foldable display. As it stands, Samsung is expected to unveil the handset on July 9 with the 12 MP cameras from the Galaxy Z Flip5.

Ultimately, the raft of hardware downgrades from the Galaxy Z Flip7 throws doubt over Samsung's strategy in this regard. Currently, Motorola distinguishes the gulf in hardware between the Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra with a massive price gap. Although the offering of the Razr Plus 2025 muddles this somewhat in the US, there would appear to be more than €100 of changes between the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy Z Flip7. If Quandt's rumour holds true, we would expect Samsung to quickly and frequently discount the Galaxy Z Flip FE, just as it has with the Galaxy S24 FE.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is just like 100 Euro cheaper than the regular new model. I have no clue how they expect this to sell, but hey.
