Ring One smart ring team share crowdfunding campaign update
The Ring One smart ring has begun to ship to customers. The health-tracking wearable began crowdfunding on Indiegogo last year, gaining over 7,800 backers and raising more than $1.7 million. The ring is said to offer features like blood pressure measurements, contactless payments and a turn wheel interface.
Alongside the announcement, the Ring One team shared images of the product from the manufacturing facility (below). The company also advised backers to ensure they had the latest version of the iOS or Android app installed, as they should now be able to see an estimated shipping date. One customer said their smart ring was due to ship on May 6th, and another stated they had been given the date of May 27th. This is several months later than the original December 2023 shipping estimate.
However, not all backers are happy, with some complaining that they were still waiting to receive a ring sizing kit, which would allow them to place their final order. Plus, Indiegogo has yet to change the campaign’s status from Prototype to Production or Shipping, as the Ring One team requested. The company said that the production rate was increasing to enable them to ship to customers “at the earliest”, suggesting that the final shipments would go out around May 27th.
