Looks like fans are going to have to wait longer to see Resident Evil Veronica, the remake of the 2000 game. Capcom has confirmed the remake will be released in 2027 but doesn’t seem ready to give the public a glimpse.

It is known that Capcom is working on an expansion for Resident Evil Requiem, as well as a remake of the spinoff that puts Veronica in the lead. It was expected that the latter would be showcased, in some form, at Gamescom, but it looks like that won’t be the case.

Insiders Dusk Golem and ScreenFire Germany seem to agree that Resident Evil Veronica will not be showcased at Gamescom. Dusk Golem shared the information late in June following a claim that both Resident Evil Veronica and Silent Hill: Townfall will be at Gamescom. He stated that Resident Evil, in general, doesn’t seem to have much of a public presence at the event.

More recently, ScreenFire Germany backed those claims, stating that there are no press appointments for Resident Evil Veronica. Citing his journalist acquaintances who will be working at Gamescom, ScreenFire stated that no one has heard of any information related to Resident Evil Veronica.

Reports of the remake started to appear in August last year. Capcom ended up confirming the remake at Summer Game Fest 2026. Since then, a Steam tag suggested that the Veronica remake will be a semi-open world game. Fans seem to be excited as it recently hit the two million wishlist milestone across digital storefronts.

Resident Evil Veronica is scheduled for a 2027 release, but there’s no concrete release window or date as of yet.
