Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of the Redmi Note 12 series in China. The mid-range phones will make their debut on October 27, and the company has now confirmed several details of the phones ahead of that date, by way of teasers.
For one, the Redmi Note 12 Pro will be powered by MediaTek's new Dimensity 1080 chipset. That chipset was launched earlier this month and looks set to make its debut on the Redmi Note 12 series. Supposedly, all Redmi Note 12 Pro model will be powered by the Dimensity 1080. That includes the Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro+, and Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. It appears there may not be a vanilla Redmi Note 12 either.
Xiaomi already confirmed the 50 MP IMX766 for the Redmi Note 12 Pro but that isn't as good as it gets for the lineup. The company has now also revealed that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will feature a 200 MP camera—the new ISOCELL HPX. The HPX is a 1/1.4" sensor with 0.56μm native pixels at 200 MP that bin up to 1.12μm at 50 MP, or 2.24μm at the default 12.5 MP capture resolution. Undoubtedly impressive hardware for a mid-range phone.
