Redmi, at an event in Beijing today, unveiled the newest device to trot out of its stables: The Redmi 7. The Redmi 7 is positioned above the Redmi Go but below the Redmi Note 7 in the company's pecking order.
The Redmi 7 features a 6.26-inch HD+ LCD display. That resolution is typical for devices in that segment, but is quite on the large size compared to what we got from previous iterations in the series. The age of semi-compact Xiaomi phones is now well and truly over.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 632, up to 4 GB of RAM, up to 64 GB of storage, and a 4000 mAh battery. That heavy battery is only chargeable via a MicroUSB port with support for standard 10 W charging. At the back of the Redmi 7 is 13 MP + 2 MP dual camera setup, while the selfie camera is an 8 MP unit. The Redmi 7 runs on the Android Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box.
It comes in three models; 2/16 GB (US$105), 3/32 GB (US$120), and 4/64 GB (US$150).
