RedMagic teases the upcoming 6s Pro gaming flagship phone with a new kind of cooling system and enhanced display specs
RedMagic has confirmed that it will release an updated version of its 6 Pro Android flagship, with the Snapdragon 888+ as opposed to the 888 in the original. The brand has been teasing this S-variant with a stream of potential tantalizing specs prior to its launch.
They inlcude the advance revelation that the 6s Pro's display will have a touch-sampling rate of 720Hz, whereas many even high-end smartphones make do with 360Hz. In addition, RedMagic has made more sense of an earlier, trailer making reference to a cryptic "C21H44" spec for the phone.
The OEM has now elaborated on this subject: it seems this new aspect of the 6s Pro is indeed related to icosane. It might seem counter-intuitive to put such a material in a smartphone; however, RedMagic asserts that molecules of the material will indeed be integrated into one part of the upcoming flagship.
It is apparently based on a state-of-the-art thermal management solution also found in one of China's latest spacecraft, Zhurong. The idea is that the icosane undergoes phase-changes in response to heat (it melts at around 40°C), and will thus help dissipate it in the 6s Pro. This new tech might be outlined in more detail on the phone's debut in full on September 6, 2021.
