Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 Max-Q

The latest Razer Blade 15 with RTX 2070 Max-Q claims to be the world's smallest 15.6" gaming laptop. It has options for the latest 9th Gen Intel processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics, combined with ample memory and fast storage options. The precision crafted aluminum chassis is compact and durable, while remaining as thin as 1.78 cm (0.70-inch). Anodized with an elegant and durable Mercury White finish, along with replacing the Razer green accents, this edition provides a more subdued aesthetic. A tone-on-tone Razer triple-headed snake adorns the display cover, and the USB ports also swap their green color for black. The Razer Blade 15 utilizes a custom vapor chamber and cutting-edge thermal materials to efficiently and quietly dissipate heat for maximum performance and user comfort. The Razer Blade 15 offers Full HD panels with up to 240 Hz, including a new OLED panel for vibrant colors and deep blacks but might not fare too well in gaming environment. With this display panel, on-screen action is incredibly smooth and fluid. User can enjoy colorful and accurate visuals with the thin bezel, factory calibrated 15.6-inch display, with support for 100% sRGB color. User can directly connect up to three external displays for an expansive workspace through Thunderbolt 3, Mini DisplayPort, and HDMI. Delivering performance is the Intel Core i7-8750H processor on Intel Cannon Lake HM370 mainboard, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q graphic processing unit, 16 GB dual-channel memory and 512 GB SSD storage. It is a potent combination capable of simultaneously playing and streaming the latest games including support for real-time ray tracing, or powering through creative tasks with ease. Besides that, the Razer Blade is free of bloatware, so user get a clean install with only critical software for maximum resources and storage space right out of the box. Designed for a customizable, immersive experience, the Razer Blade is loaded with innovative features. The Razer Blade 15 is equipped with per-key lighting powered by Razer Chroma. Each key can be individually assigned a color, allowing for maximum customization and effect options. It also has a large, clickable glass touchpad with Microsoft Precision Touchpad support means smooth and precise control, including a range of gestures for expanded navigation. Furthermore, users can take full control with the new Razer Synapse 3, from customizing lighting, managing profiles, adjusting fans, and even stepping up graphics performance in Gaming mode. Users can connect a wide range of devices to the Razer Blade to get more out of their experience. It is able to output up to three external displays, and plug in mice, keyboards, headsets and more via the three USB-A ports. As a conclusion, the Razer Blade 15 RTX 2070 Max-Q is a slim but high performance laptop. It checks everything a gamer would love to have, which is great design, slim, good portability and high end performance. Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

The Blade 15 series is barely one year old and it has already expanded across two generations of Nvidia GeForce GPUs with multiple display options ranging from FHD 144 Hz to full-on OLED. For this particular review, we'll focus on the RTX 2070 Max-Q SKU to see what kind of performance advantages it carries over last year's GTX 1070 Max-Q options.

The addition of an RTX 2070 Max-Q and an impressive 240Hz screen make the latest Blade an excellent – if expensive – option for esports and conventional gaming. Razer has improved this machine’s thermal performance, too, and the exterior remains one of the slimmest and sleekest on the market. Just be aware that the Blade is not cheap – and its keyboard won’t sate some serious players.

Razer continues to raise the bar with its gaming laptops. For $2,649, you get the Advanced Version of the Razer Blade 15, which comes in a stunning white aluminum chassis. And measuring 14 x 9.3 x 0.7 inches, it's officially the smallest 15-inch gaming system on the block. But this is a svelte beast, as it packs l a Core i7 CPU and Nvidia's impressive new RTX GPUs. The notebook is ready to game, video edit, crunch numbers and more at the drop of a hat.

The 2019 version of the Razer Blade 15 really won me over this year and overall this is the best-polished gaming ultraportable on the market right now. Razer packed plenty of performance into this small body, the build is just as robust as it's always been, the software has a purpose and works well, the trackpad is huge and works flawlessly, the screen is great, you get punchy front-facing speakers and they’ve even added biometrics into the tiny bezel. It still sits a little higher in cost than the competition, but the premium is worth it.

65% Razer Blade 15 Advanced review: good gaming machine, bad laptop
Source: The Verge English Archive.org version
Most gamers would not take issue with any of the things I’ve pointed out, but when Razer is charging as much as it is for the Blade 15 lineup, it’s not unreasonable to expect a little more from the machine. After all, if performance was the only thing I was concerned about, there are plenty of other gaming laptops out there that match or exceed the Blade 15’s performance and do it with even lighter designs and much lower price tags. Even Microsoft’s Surface Book 2, which is more of a regular computer that can also play games as opposed to a gaming laptop that can also do work, offers a bit more bang for the buck than Razer.

Razer Blade 15 RTX 2080 Max-Q

Razer has long established itself as one of the forefathers of elite gaming experience since circa 2010 and does not seem to be slowing down in its track. The globally renowned gaming brand has recently come out with two distinct models for the long-awaited Razer Blade 15. The saying that good things come in small packages holds unwavering truth for the Razer Blade 15 as it is the world’s smallest 15.6-inch gaming laptop packed with astounding horsepower waiting to be put into motion. It has laid down its benchmark by entering the gaming scene with both the Base Model and the Advanced Model, which is specifically constructed for hardcore gamers. The gaming community will appreciate and rejoice in learning that both models share options for the latest 9th generation Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics. In terms of comparing the two sides of the same coin, the Base Model features a Full HD display for an optimal elite gaming screen experience whereas the Advanced Model boasts Full HD panels up to 240 Hz and 4k options with a new OLED panel as an extra step taken to the next mile. For something considered small in the gaming laptop industry, the Razer Blade 15 sure packs a boosted cooling system. The Advanced Model of the Razer Blade 15 operates using a custom vapor chamber for its cooling system which is crafted from cutting-edge thermal materials to disperse heat as quietly and efficiently as possible without coming off as a nuisance for its user. The Base Model, however, does not fall behind albeit lacking a vapor chamber for heat dispersion. The Base Model runs its cooling system using a bespoke heat pipe system instead which siphons out built-up thermal heat under the constant elevating pressure of demanding task loads. Custom 44 fan blades were made for the Razer Blade 15’s cooling system to better facilitate dissipation of heat. Moreover, the incorporation of nanoparticle thermal blockers reduce potential hot spots from building up more unnecessary heat to the entire device. The Razer Blade 15 does not only wear the classic color of black; it also dons the monochromatic color of Mercury White and has stripped off the brand’s signature neon green accents in favor of a more subtle and sleek overall appearance. This subdued and muted aesthetic comes off as refreshing compared to the other kin that the Razer family has sired throughout the decade. However, this particular model has not completely shed itself off from its legacy as the Razer Blade 15 still wears the triple-headed snake icon on the display cover, thus proudly distinguishing itself as one of the brand’s many prestigious laptops to date. At £3,149/$3,299, the Razer Blade 15 Advanced is £570/$600 more than an equivalently specced MacBook Pro, which comes in at £2,579/$2,799. But £570/$600 for the RTX 2080 and OLED screen seems a fair price. Or to put it another way, an equivalently priced MacBook Pro would have an 8-core i9 chip and 32GB of RAM. This would be a better choice for those working in 2D or video apps – but if 3D animation is your focus, the Razer Blade 15 Advanced would be our pick.

80% Razer Blade 15 (OLED) Review
Source: Laptop Mag English Archive.org version
The $3,299 Blade 15 has always been a beautiful laptop, but with a 4K OLED panel, it's a head-turner from the inside out. Equipped with a Core i9 processor and an Nvidia RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU, the notebook has more than enough power for play (and work, if you're so inclined.) And despite that beautiful yet power-sapping display, it managed to last more than 4 hours on our battery test. If you're dead set on an OLED panel, but want to save a few bucks, consider the $2,499 Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED, which offers similar performance on the gaming and overall performance front. However, the screen is not as vivid as the Blade 15's, and it doesn't last as long on a charge. But if you're looking for a thin-and-light gaming laptop that serves up power, speed and endurance with a beautiful 4K OLED display, the Razer Blade 15 is a cut above the rest.

Source: Pocket Lint English Archive.org version
Like the previous version, the Razer Blade 15 is a fully capable laptop that's nicely understated and wouldn't stand out in the office. With new Nvidia RTX graphics it has some serious gaming punch too. The pricetag might raise some eyebrows, but there's no denying its a tasty little machine with a lot of power on tap.

Source: Ultrabook Review English Archive.org version
The 2019 version of the Razer Blade 15 really won me over this year and overall this is the best-polished gaming ultraportable on the market right now. Razer packed plenty of performance into this small body, the build is just as robust as it's always been, the software has a purpose and works well, the trackpad is huge and works flawlessly, the screen is great, you get punchy front-facing speakers and they’ve even added biometrics into the tiny bezel. It still sits a little higher in cost than the competition, but the premium is worth it.

85% Razer Blade 15 (2019) review: Sharper than ever
Source: Hardware Zone English Archive.org version
At S$4,679, the Blade 15 will cut a huge chunk out of your wallet, but that's the price you pay for a top-end GPU and good design. To be sure, it's hardly perfect, and noise and heat concerns are very real. However, I could say the same of pretty much any slim and light gaming laptop, and the fact remains that the Blade 15 stands up well against the competition and is simply very, very fast.

85% Razer Blade 15 (9th Gen) review: Still the same sharp looker
Source: Hardware Zone English Archive.org version
The Razer Blade 15 is one of the most stylish gaming laptops on the market right now. It doesn't need race car-inspired vents or aggressive curves to turn heads, which speaks volumes about the merits of its design. If you want a gaming laptop that runs fast and looks good, it's really difficult to do better than the well-featured Razer Blade 15. You just need to be prepared to pony up the cash and get used to the position of the right shift key.

86.9% Razer Blade 15 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q Review: Same Laptop, But Faster | Notebookcheck
Not much has changed over last year's Blade 15 from a design perspective, but the new 10th gen 8-core Core i7-10875H will offer noticeable raw performance gains over the older 9th gen 6-core Core i7-9750H. The jump from the older GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q to the latest GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q, however, will be much smaller.

80% Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model (2022)
Source: PC Mag English
The 2022 Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model is about what you'd expect from an iterative update, with a few more improvements than some past annual editions. There are a handful of design tweaks that aren't major but still enhancements, as well as impressive new components. Getting both new CPU and GPU releases makes this year's revamp more worthwhile than others, though we wouldn't call it drastic enough to justify trading in a 2020 or 2021 laptop. The Blade 15 isn't flawless, but if you're shopping in the high-priced aisle and want a gaming rig that's reasonably portable, it's the best premium mix of mobility and performance.
