The Asus TUF Gaming F16 (2025) gaming laptop is enjoying a sizeable 26% discount at Walmart. Equipped with an RTX 5070 laptop GPU alongside an Core i7-14650HX CPU, the Asus TUF F16 FX608JPR is built for high-refresh-rate FHD and smooth QHD gaming.

Asus revealed the latest TUF Gaming F16 (2025) gaming laptop back in June with the Arrow Lake-HX CPUs and the RTX 50 laptop GPUs. Walmart has now put the laptop on sale at a pretty good price. With a $400.99 discount applied, you can now buy the Asus TUF F16 (2025) for just $1,099.99.

At the heart of the Asus TUF F16 on sale is the RTX 5070 laptop GPU with 8 GB of VRAM, a 16-core Core i7-14650HX CPU, 16 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, and 1 TB of storage. A large 90 Wh battery that can be fast-charged at 100 W powers the whole system. Other niceties include Wi-Fi 6E, a single-zone RGB keyboard, and a decent port selection.

The ports include:

  • One Thunderbolt 4 and one Type-C port with DP and PD
  • Three Type-A connectors
  • An HDMI 2.1 out
  • A 3.5 mm combo jack

Based on our testing of the Core i7-14650HX and the RTX 5070 laptop GPU, the Asus TUF F16 is, at least on paper, powerful enough for both CPU and GPU-intensive workloads. Granted, the RTX 5070 with 8 GB of VRAM is not a big upgrade over the last-gen RTX 4070, but the GPU is still quite capable. It can run games like Battlefield 6 at more than 100 FPS at 1080p/high. Similarly, the Core i7-14650HX is not the latest, but, courtesy of its 16 cores and high single-core performance, it is a pretty fast chip in both gaming and non-gaming workloads.

Thankfully, the Asus TUF F16’s cooling solution is up to the task. Jarrod’sTech’s review shows that the laptop manages to stay relatively cool under load. However, the fans do get rather loud when the machine is pushed to the max.

The 16-inch IPS display on the Asus TUF F16 is just average, not bad but not exceptional either. It covers 100% sRGB, features 300 nits of max brightness, and a 165 Hz refresh rate. There are plenty of gaming laptops with much better screens, including mid-rangers with OLED displays. So, it is a little disappointing to see the TUF F16 offer only a 300-nit IPS panel. However, you can always opt for a dedicated gaming monitor if you need a screen fit for both gaming and media creation.

Long story short, the Asus TUF F16 (2025) seems to be a solid machine that has almost everything a value-oriented gaming laptop should. It is both powerful and plenty upgradable thanks to two SO-DIMM/M.2 slots, with a decent port selection and a comfortable keyboard. At just $1,099.99, it is a superb deal.
