This year's Asus ROG Strix G16 (G614JI-AS94) gaming laptop dropped to $1,649.99 in late August, and that figure remains the lowest price of this machine so far. However, Camelcamelcamel reveals that its average Amazon price currently sits at $1,826.44 and, before gaining the 15% discount that pushed it to $1,699.99, the Asus ROG Strix G16 (2023) with Intel Core i9-13980HX and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 was available for over $1,850.

In addition to the processor and video card mentioned above, the G614JI-AS94 model sports a 16-inch FHD IPS display with 3 ms response time and up to 240 Hz refresh rate, non-glare. The custom liquid cooling system uses a triple fan configuration. The maximum TGP of the GPU is 140 W, and a MUX Switch is also present.

In the memory and storage department, this gaming machine comes with 16 GB DDR5-4800 memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD. Two USB 3.0 ports are present, as well as WiFi 6E and Bluetooth connectivity. The preinstalled operating system is Windows 11 Home.

Although this discounted model has not visited our labs, its sibling labeled G614JZ with the same processor alongside Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 graphcs did, achieving an 88% rating. The conclusion was that it provides powerful performance in an eye-catching package with a single disappointment, which is the lackluster 720p webcam. This outdated camera is also present in the G614JI-AS94 and most likely its weakest link as well.
