Verdict – Small size, solid efficiency, but heat remains a concern
The Ugreen Nexode Air Slim 45W impresses with its small and compact design. It's one of the most pocket-friendly chargers available, and the foldable plug makes it more travel-friendly. Our tests showed good overall efficiency, even during high loads.
Its biggest drawback is the heat. The charger can become noticeably hot during extended high-power charging. Another minor drawback is that Ugreen doesn't clarify the supported charging protocols, and we couldn't verify compatibility beyond USB PD.
Overall, it's a tiny yet capable charger for phones, tablets, gaming handhelds, and even lightweight laptops.
Pros
Cons
Price and availability
The Ugreen Nexode Air 45W Slim retails for $39.99, and it's available on the official store and Amazon. It comes in only one colorway, which is Grey.
Thanks to the advancements in GaN technology, power adapters are getting smaller and more efficient with time. The Ugreen Nexode Air Slim 45W is a proper example of that. It's one of the smallest 45W power adapters available, and its tiny form factor allows it to easily slip in between pockets.
The foldable plug makes the charger even more travel-friendly. However, for fast chargers of this size, heat and efficiency tend to be primary concern, but, in our tests, this 45W Ugreen charger held its ground well.

Ugreen kept the packaging minimal, just like the charger
The Ugreen Nexode Air Slim 45W ships in a slim package, and there's no paperwork inside, which is a good thing. All the key information is printed on the package.
As for the charger itself, it has a sleek overall outlook, and the textured finish makes it look quite premium. Size-wise, the adapter is small, measuring around 6.3cm (63mm) tall, 4.3cm (43mm) wide, and 1.25cm (12.5mm) thick. Such a form factor, paired with the foldable plug, makes it easily fit into pockets.
In reference to other objects, the Nexode Air 45W Slim is as tall as the charging case of AirPods Pro, and it's much slimmer than the 18W Apple A1695 charger. Check out the picture below to get a better idea of how the Ugreen adapter compares to these two.
The 45W charger is quite efficient, but it can get hot
Ugreen claims that the Nexode Air Slim 45W is based on the GaN II technology, and it has stood as a quite efficient charger in our tests. It's worth noting that the wall outlet power meter and the USB meter that we used for these tests aren't professional-grade, meaning that they are not the most accurate tools.
That said, the peak input power recorded from the outlet is 45.6W, and in this instance, the output is recorded at 43.52W. This results in an efficiency of 95.4%. After around 47 minutes of use, the input from the wall stood at 40.9W, while the output was recorded at 38.30W, resulting in an efficiency of 93.6%.
It's worth noting that the charger became quite hot after the 45-minute mark, and it was too hot to touch after the 1-hour mark. Even so, the efficiency didn't drop under 90% in the 1 hour 15 minutes test.
It has a wide compatibility, but Ugreen doesn't mention the supported protocols
The charger worked with all the devices we tested it with, including wireless earbuds, a gaming handheld, and different phones. Ugreen mentions fixed output profiles, and they suggest there's support for USB PD. We were not able to test whether the adapter has support for other protocols.
It's worth noting that Ugreen mentions compatibility with Samsung flagship phones, Google Pixel phones, MacBook, and Chromebooks, indicating support for other popular protocols.
